As CEO of Smeralda Holding Group and Destination Costa Smeralda, Mario has developed the Costa Smeralda into the world's leading luxury and lifestyle tourist destination in recent years, creating a diverse collection of ultra-luxury hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, spas, shops and entertainment, offering unique experiences in all aspects, exceeding the expectations of customers, employees and investors.
Mario created the vision of the Costa Smeralda 2.0 and spearheaded the destination's design and product innovation process, signing strategic partnerships with Cheval Blanc, Belmond, Zuma, Matsuhisa Nobu, Nikki Beach, Beefbar, Shiseido and many other brands, creating a unique tourism proposal with strong authentic local roots mixed with innovative and contemporary luxury and lifestyle concepts designed by some of the world's most award-winning interior design studios.
Prior to joining Smeralda Holding and Costa Smeralda as CEO, Mario held various management positions at Marriott and Hilton in Europe and the Middle East. Mario holds a BA in business administration and an MBA from IE Business School and Brown University.
