Founder, Owner and Chief Executive Officer - VERTU Hospitality, Hotels and Resorts

Founder, owner, chairman and CEO of VERTU International and VERTU Hotels and Resorts, Gérald Lampaert has extensive experience in various sectors of the service and luxury hospitality industry. Half Belgian and half Swiss, born in 1970 in Brussels, Gérald began life with an international mindset, first learning several languages, then living and working in several countries around the world.

Spending most of his professional career in the hotel and meetings and events industry, he quickly realised that the key factors for success in day-to-day operations are customer focus, excellence in service, perfection in product workmanship, and a special attention to detail. Gérald began his career in 1992 at the Walt Disney Company, holding various positions including hotel operations, sales, marketing and large conference organisation, and digital information management.

It was here that he discovered the value of having a culture, vision, quality structure, operational standards and focus on extraordinary results. He also worked with Florida-based A&L Associates to manage Hard Rock Café Europe's secret shoppers and service quality management. Seven years later, Gérald continued his career at the Imperial Palace in Annecy and returned to Paris at the end of 2000 as Regional Director for Continental Europe of the Millenium & Copthorne hotels for almost three years.
In 2002, Gérald started his first successful Paris-based private company, Luxury Communication, and simultaneously held several vice-president positions for international groups based in New York and Houston, including Dolce International and Benchmark Hospitality. A strategic business consultant, international conference speaker and owner of a dormant music label while maintaining French operations, Gérald moved to Zurich in 2015, where he was appointed CEO of LUXCOM GmbH before deciding to create the VERTU International Group in 2015 and launching its very specific luxury boutique hotel brand, VERTU Hotels and Resorts in 2018.
